Would like to give this a try, but for a 'middle of the road' shooter will this just turn into an embarrassing event for me? Also, If i signed up for one limited gun how do they assign you to a day/time?

I believe that you pick your time, as long as there is a slot open on a squad you can have it.
Most folks that shoot these events don't pay a lot of attention to how others shoot. Everyone has a bad run now and then.

Gotcha, I think with championship in the title its a little intimidating. I would expect top tier shooters but sounds like its open to all? Do you have to be a member of an organization to get in?

This is a tier 3 match so you need a uspsa member number to sign up.

You do not need to be a member for a local match. There are several of those each month April thru November.

Riley is the first Saturday of the month
Atlanta conservation club is the 3rd Saturday
South Central is the first Saturday
Marion county fish and game has Friday night steel

Clarification? Does the stock model 617 .22 6 shot revolver compete in iron sight evolved or RFPI? Or does it have its own class?

post #42 has the 13 recognized divisions. Since the 617 is chambered in .22 rimfire you would compete in RFPI
