Ooops I did it again. Out goofing around today and stopped into a local shop. Owner was retiring and sold the shop to his employees and I just wanted to wish him well and thank him for being one of the good owners. While hanging out saw some new rifles and decided to take a look. Mostly 10/22s and Savages, nothing real special. Happened to see one of the 10/22s had a decent stock on it so picked it up. Turned it over, and the light caught the wood. OOOOOOO purty! Well hell. Looked at tag. Big mistake. $250 and I know they'll deal. Walked out with the rifle, 2 extra 10 round mags and 2 50 round boxes of 9mm for $285. Just call me Fido. :):
    Pics to follow.

My two favorites for 22lr range fun. If I’m being honest the Henry H001 probably brings me the most joy of any firearm I have to shoot. It’s cheap accurate and shooting 22shorts is like shooting subsonic on the cheap (pre-panic buying).

Work got crazy this week but i managed to get the wanna be p90 out. Sighted in the red dot and was able to manage a 2.5-3” group shooting from the shoulder at 20 yards. Cant wait to get it out to the tri-county range and see what itll do on the 50 and 100 yard. Im happy for a first outting with a new gun.

Finally a couple of pics. Thinking very seriously about refinishing the stock. With the grain pattern I'd think I could make the wood look more like a Finn Mosin. Debating on a scope, don't want to throw a big one on it, maybe a small fixed 4x or maybe a 2-7x. We'll see. Pics aren't the greatest, been very cloudy most of the day and the stock looks really nice in good light.

I got my project 10/22 out today and tested some different ammo at 50 yards. The top right is cheap Federal 40G bulk in 800 round range box that was equal to the more pricey SK Pistol match. I wasn't too happy with the CCI groupings, surprising because my MKIV loves those things. I had to throw in some Thunderbolts and see what they did, they actually did surprisingly well at 100 yds.

This is with the stock trigger, that's my next project.

looks like you got a winner for running inexpensive 22lr ammo. Now you just have to buy it by the thousands. My 10/22 loves Eley force 42gr. However, it shoots less than an inch at 50yd with Agulia Super Extra 40gr. So I'm in the process of buying up both if I spot any.

Yep! I got home from this outing and placed another order, I have 3200 rounds of the Federal on the way.
Have some Eley Action Plus to try yet, probably next outing along with some CCI "Tactical" I found locally for a great price. Waiting for some regular Eley Action to be available, website says later this month....let's hope so.

Been busy working w/o range time.
Got to test out Sig red dots on my Henry Pump & Savage Mark 2 F model.
CZ used also with a scope.

I'm learning that the red dots are not as accurate at even 50 yds over a scope.
I might switch scopes from pistols to red dots so I have scopes on my rifles instead of red dots.

I really like the pump action on the Henry.
Sig red dot on Savage & Henry; CZ 457 Trainer has a scope.
Ignore rounds not on red targets.
Used Armscor 36 grain HV & HP except for upper right.
Last of 3rd round of targets after dialing in red dots.
Used better ammo in the upper right with CZ.

2nd round of targets using above mentioned rifles.
Armscor again except for upper right corner.
    2nd round of targets.
Better ammo used in upper right with CZ.

1st targets dialing the red dots I put on the Savage & Henry.
