    Now that it's public knowledge, note:

    The handgun was found to have no safety and no lock on it. In addition to the weapon with which the child shot himself, eight other firearms were found inside the home which were loaded, all of which had no trigger lock, and some of which were easily accessible to the children.

    So, this was NOT simply laying down a gun or a split second and a child accessing it in that split second. There were multiple guns loaded and easily reachable by the child.

    Yeah, but 20 years? I'm not sure I'm completely ok with that. Is there so reason why it's that high?

    Six years of the sentence are to be served on Community Corrections and the remaining fourteen years were suspended. Gulling was ordered to be on probation for fourteen years after he completes the Community Corrections sentence. As a convicted felon, Gulling will be prohibited from possessing any firearms.
