    I had an LCR in .357 that I loved to carry. Sold it to buy another gun, and have regretted it since. It was a bear to shoot .357s in, but not bad in .38 or .38 +p. Looking to get another one soon.

    I'm not a huge revolver guy but I did read your concerns about wanting a hammer to cock but worrying about snagging. Be sure you've looked into shrouded hammers which i know are available on some of the Smiths

    Shrouded hammers can be difficult to decock safely as you cannot put your thumb between the hammer and the firing pin when you pull the trigger to release the sear to start dropping it. In addition, you don't get much of a purchase on the hammer spur. Every double action revolver I've handled locks up the crane when the hammer's cocked and you cannot open it to unload the cylinder until the hammer is dropped or decocked. Something to consider with a shrouded hammer.
