I try to put myself in your shoes and have to admit, I don't know what I would do or how I would handle a major career change a this point in my life. One thing is certain, we have to move on, no choice there.
It sure would take some getting used to. But based on I've learned about you in your posts, I'm sure you will make the transition into the next chapter. There must me many different employers that would be very interested in a person with your background.
