I think this is just a feeler to see if we'll have enough volunteers.
Later there will probably be a thread on what everyone's donating or bringing.
I was out at one of the first ones with my two kids, and it was a blast... haven't been back since. I'd like to do it again even though they've both grown up,and moved on. I can have my VFW be a partial sponsor. Let me talk with my people and see what we can do. What would be needed most? (besides just money for ammo)
I will help with ammo as always.
I thought you would be in charge of the Cheeseburgers?
We did. We had a lot of people stop on over and enjoy the display. I think we had a very good representation of the basic firearms from the American Revolution through WWII. We were a bit light on sidearms and modern weapons but that is to be expected. We had plenty of longarms.
I have no problem doing it again.
Doug
PS - I will also be able to supply bacon cheeseburgers and sides for folks. We can discuss special food for volunteers and DNR staff as the time approaches.
Thanks chef larry. It's hard to believe it's been 4 months already!Congratulations on the new member to your family. They grow up so quickly and next thing you know they will be driving.
Donations for shirts
There's shirts? Wow. It must have got bigger over the years. We only went the one year. This child is now in her third year at Ball State...
Just out of curiosity what is on the shirts? An INGO logo? Looking for some exposure here, maybe a big donation could get a VFW logo as well...?
I'm in. I'm sure I can get my post to come up with a donation enough to be put on the back of the shirt as a sponsor.
Me personally, I'd like to be there as well. It was fun that day, even if the bugs were a nightmare that day. I brought an AR, a 10/22, and a GSG 22. They had me at a station with the .22s.
As of now I have the following available for use.
Bolt guns.
Remington 513-T .22lr (scoped)
Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 in .223 (scoped)
Remington 700 in .243 (scoped)......... not much ammo
Lee Enfield No 4 Mk 1......... not much ammo
7mm Mauser (Sporterized, and scoped)...... maybe 200 rds
Mosin Nagant M44
ARs
10.5" A1 upper pistol (5.56)
10.3 pistol with red dot, and 3x magnifier (5.56)
11.3 SBR with red dot (.300 Blackout)........ maybe 300 rds
14" .308 AR (pin and welded) 1-8 Primary Arms with ACSS.
Lever gun
Rossi 92 in .44 mag with red dot. VERY fun to shoot. I think this would be a hit.
Other
10/22 Charger takedown with Copper Custom brace adapter, brace, and red dot. Very fun, not too accurate. Good enough for the 25 yd range.
MAC too?The old post I belonged to till I transferred out to use to donate for shirts. I think this year I'll talk to my buddy and see if he can get copper custom to chip in.
