Oh, it's Christmas in May! I'm in the market for a new knife. The requirements are:

    1. It's a folder. Manually opened & closed, not assisted or automatic. Obviously it needs to lock.

    2. The blade is not over 3". I'd prefer a blade as close to 3" as possible.

    3. My budget is $100. There is no requirement to spend as close to $100 as possible.

So what's your favorite knife that meets these three requirements?

Sage 3 in carbon fiber hands down for me.

    Carbon fiber scales
    S30V blade
    Easy non assisted opening
Super sharp out of the box

Spyderco Persistence. Has a 2 7/8" blade and is completely manual. You can buy them on Amazon for $35 free shipping I believe, but I paid an extra $7 and shopped local at Bradis.
Great knife, shaving sharp and inexpensive enough that I'm not afraid to really use it.
    Good luck in your search!

I bought a Benchmade mini griptillian and absolutlely love it. It holds a very nice edge and is very pocketable, thumbstud...pocket clip, but I dont like pocket clips so I took it off. I use it all the time.
It's a great knife to have when a stray thread, envelope, or cardboard box attack you.

Please excuse the dye on my fingers, I just finished dying a holster.

The spyderco sage is a great choice but let's not forget the caly 3. I have the new sprint run caly 3 with the superblue steel and its the best knife I own right now.

The caly 3 and the sage are very similar, I like the caly because the body and blade are a little smaller and I have small hands.

Spyderco delica. If you get a waved one it's faster to deploy than any automatic or assisted knife and can open beer bottles. That's a win. VG10 steel keeps an edge very well and is very easy to sharpen and maintain. It's also very light and nearly $40 under budget

I concur with a Spyderco Delica. I've carried one everyday while at work for years and I've used it hard at times. It's never failed me when I needed it. :yesway:

I really like my CRKT Pazoda. Very sharp right out of the box and slim. All metal construction so you don't have to worry about loosing screws to side plates and them becoming loose. Easy open with thumb hole.

    blade:2.625"
    open length: 6.5"
    closed length: 3.75
    weight: 3.1 oz
    cost:$26.99 + shipping
available in either razor edge or combo razor/serated
