I just saw an ad saying that there is a new Academy Sports store coming to Lafayette.

I've heard the name but can't recall in what context.
What say Ingo?
Is Academy Sports worth looking into, or they just another Dick's?

They’re a good size sporting goods box store. Quite few of them down here in Texas. They don’t seem to be as woke as dicks.

Several years ago, they had some great prices. Now, I occasionally walk thru to Check for Clearance items. Big Store, much Inventory but out of my pricing. Way of the World

They just put one in our area & it's Definitely Better than Dick's.
Had some pretty Good deals on Ammo & even Primers when they 1st opened, but have "Caught Up" with the Market.
Kinda High on their Firemarm Prices(but who isn't these days, lol)
I'll visit them again, from time to time.

Never been to the brick and mortar store, but online I've found some decent deals on .22 ammo. Of course that was pre-plandemic, so who knows nowadays...

I stop at the one in Terre Haute when I'm there. Mostly pick up fishing stuff if they are having a good clearance sale. Also have stopped in at some of their FL locations when I've been there.

I picked up some ammo right before Covid really hit from the on in TH.

Never purchased a gun there, but noticed a deal here and there.

I have bought lots of ammo over the years from the Academy Sports in Terre Haute when I am visiting there. Great prices and they also have firearms as well.

I’ve seen them more down south. I’ve bought from their website before when they had ammo on a good sale before.

They advertise alot on SEC ball games. Their commercials are super annoying.

I always try to stop by Academy Sports whenever we're around one and have time.

Seems like they carry some different brands of clothing I don't see at the usual options. Decent ammo selection also, at least at the Terre Haute store last time I was there.

They must be ready to make a move into central Indiana. They are opening in Westfield too.

Academy Sports & Outdoors coming to Westfield?

According to a local guy on Nextdoor (https://nextdoor.com/p/m2wZBxbxFkkC?utm_source=share&extras=NDc2Njk4OQ==) they are soliciting bids to to occupy an old Marsh location in Westfield. This would be easy access from US 31 and I for one would welcome some competition in the area.

Looks like they finally got rid of their 2 box ammo limit. When everyone else started having stock of ammo, they were still holding strong to the limit.

We have one in Terre Haute, not much to get excited over as far a prices but they sell guns, camping equipment, grills, clothing, shoes etc.
