Fox news has been showing what looks like areal photos of the scene.
It appears the shooters perch was about a block away from the venue.
Not much chance he was targeting individuals.
More likely just spraying into the crowd.

Did you guys read a lady had been in the crowd telling everyone they were going to die? She was escorted out 45 mins prior to shooting, and was with a guy.

any word on profile of the shooter? Usually we know everything once a name is released

Yeah, I saw some of it to make my own determination about the weapon. My first thought was bumpfire with those 50+ mags/drums. The reload really seemed to take awhile. Alas, I must admit, though, it could be auto, either NFA or DIY.

    Prayers for the fallen.

I have heard it thrown around that the POS was shooting for about 5 minutes. That's an eternity if you are on the receiving end. But it's incredibly fast work by LEOs to narrow it down to that particular room, blow the door and kill the SOB.

They are also reporting that the shooter had multiple weapons in the room.
Mag changes would not be necessary if he had several weapons already loaded.
Drop one, pick up the next...

Probably wasn't hard to narrow down. I can imagine someone on that floor knew what gunfire sounds like.

One of the Cub Reporters on the news said the room's smoke alarm was set off.

FEC doesn't appear to have any federal campaign donations from shooter or his female companion.

So true on all counts, but especially the speed in which LEO was able to locate and terminate the shooter. As horrendous as this insanity is, almost unbelievably, it could have been even that much worse absent that lightning fast response by LEO.
