    a shotgun with a stock is a shotgun, and thus has a least an 18" barrel, and at least 26" long (I think thats the right length).

    A shotgun that has the stock removed, and a pistol grip installed is still a shotgun because it is still 26" long, still has an 18" barrel, and was already a shotgun.

    a shotgun that has NEVER had a stock installed and comes from the manufacturer with a pistol grip can probably be classified as a pistol.



    Here in IN we have case law that any gun made or moded to shoot with one hand is a pistol. So that shotgun is a pistol and you better have your LTCH if you are going to "carry" it.
