I still only have one, but oh boy, is it special ..... tuned by the illustrious Churchmouse, and sheathed with a 10,000 year old dinosaur tusk. :)
It'll never leave my grasp !

    Oh that's purdy!!:rockwoot:

Thanks ! .... and just like every handgun I own, I have a couple of ways to carry it. The nod goes to a shoulder holster in colder months, and this 1791 belt holster otherwise. And just like a lot of old guys (I think that only Churchmouse is older ! ) ;), I need suspenders these days.

*** if it was loaded, the hammer would be cocked, but I was breaking-in the holster during this photo.

Now, unicorn horn grips would really be sweet! :):

The mouse has seen a unicorn ! Somebody even has a photo of him riding one.
Until then, I'll just have to be happy with my Woolly Mammoth grips ... every time I pick up that 1911, it's like shaking hands with a dinosaur !

There is just something magic in that antique design. Us antiques are drawn to them.

It was one hot August day at the range, in 1977, at Camp Pendleton, Ca.
I'm not exact on the day, but I am about the month.
That was the time I began my penchant with the 1911.

I was new to handguns, and I would never look back.
I have many handguns, but none compare to JMB's design.
I was only afforded 7 rounds, but that was about 6 rounds more than I needed to start a life-long love affair.

I might be old, but that design will live in perpetuity.
