15+1 in the FS with a 5" barrel is perfect for the house or the range. That's 2x as many rounds as a 1911.[/QUOTE]

Cost and capacity is why I bought a XD 5" tacticle stainless bi-tone in 45acp, 13 in the mag + 1 in the pipe = 14. Admittedly not the beauty or aura of a 1911, but it does all I will ever ask of it. Started out with a S&W 645 as my first HG. My XD tach has become my carry gun while in the woods.

My first handgun was a .45 1911 and I've been hooked ever since. It's the caliber I shoot most, with .40 coming in second. I'm a big believer in having the first three shots be the best you can deliver and nothing delivers like a .45 1911.

I own and carry .380, .38 Spc, 9mm, .40, .44 and .45. I carry and shoot mostly .40. Good power vs. capacity balance.
I want to try 147 gr. 9mm, but it is hard to come by locally. I currently shoot 115 gr. 9mm for training and GSSF. When I carry a 9mm, it has 124 gr. +P Federal HST.

I have been a .45 fan for years, I have carried either a .40 or .45 for the last 15 years. Unfortunately with the rising cost of ammo I am thinking about getting some 9mm guns to use for classes and training in general.

I bounce back and forth between 40 s&w and 45 acp. It depends a lot on what I am wearing, because the only 45 I have is a 1911. You cant quite conceal a 1911 with just a t-shirt on.

I like .45 but I got a RIA 1911 in 10mm for Christmas that I'm really digging. Shooting .45 is fun and all but it hasn't put a smile on my face like the 10mm does.
