we live on about 10 acres. about 5 of it is "finished lawn".

so in that context, forget the box store cheapy lawn mowers and go commerical

i tried the "craftsman pos" thing for one summer.

    that was it.

bought a scag 7 years ago and never looked back.

yes, the initial investment is higher, but in the long run you will be money ahead, imho.

    good luck with it.

Nice! I guess 35% off isnt that bad of a deal. ;) I'm sure it will meet if not exceed your demands, just remember to do all the general maintenance and she should run for years to come.

UPDATE: I just bought the mower. Sears was having a friends and family sale so I got an additional 10% off a mower that was already seriously on sale.

I ended up with a Snapper LT125 Series Lawn & Garden Tractors by Snapper

and got 35% off the MSRP...not bad.

Thanks for all of the input, I appreciate it!

Wife and I are real-estate hunting right now... We're gonna look at a place that has 1.83 ac (According to the MLS sheet)

So that's probably 1.5 ac to mow once you subtract the house footprint and driveway.

I dragged her around to look at mowers yesterday. (she wasn't happy...)

Saw the Snappers at Sears on Saturday, actually...piqued my interest.

If we buy a home with a yard large enough to need a rider, I'm going to look you up. I will volunteer to mow half your yard (whole thing?!) so I can try out your mower. Seriously. If you'll have me, that is. LOL :D
