Would you guys ever run "Silver Bear" ammo in your AR's. Reason I ask is a local shop has a real good deal on 1000rd case's. Ive never used it before figured Id get some input before I decided to get some of it. Thanks Fellas

Just dirty ammo. For just plinking I like PMC ammo. I don't like the Wolf ammo either. A buddy gave me a couple boxes and I won't shoot them either. 21st Century had a good deal on 1000 rounds of 223 ammo when I was up there a couple weeks ago.

I'd run it. I shoot surplus steel cased ammo all the time and have not had a single failure. I clean my AR after a range trip anyway, so the dirty ammo doesn't bother me, & I never noticed it being that much dirtier than PMC anyway. I especially like how easy it is to pick up the steel cases at the range. I don't reload so thats not a consideration of mine.

I always buy the cheapest stuff for practice/plinking...so long as it is non corrosive. That usually is the "Bear" ammo or Wolf which I think is actually made by the same company....never had any problem out of any of them...but remember if you're going for accuracy every different brand/type of round will shoot differently...but as far as functioning they all work fine.......out of curiosity What's the deal??

All i shoot out of my AR is Wolf and Brown Bear. Zero malfunctions! Silver Bear is good ammo. I shot a bit of it but the Brown Bear was cheaper so i just picked it up. I would buy as much Silver Bear i could afford if i found a good deal on it. Buy and shoot with confidence!

it is dirtier than the usual brass stuff i shoot. Never had any issues with Brown or Silver Bear. I even go against the conventional wisdom and shoot brass then steel and never had a problem- my pony eats everything.

I have shot a metric butt-ton of Silver Bear through my ARs, AKs and ACR without issue. I am currently shooting some Precision Ammo (RUAG import with an MFS headstamp which is Hungarian, but the box says "made in Russia") which is similar stuff with a zinc-plated steel case, and it is also good.

I have run the Wolf ammo in mine, but I tend to stick with Federal 55gr. Not that the wolf was bad, but I reload, and if I catch it on sale, the Fed is usually pretty cheep for good brass cased ammo.

I haven't had much luck with "brown bear", although it may be my that I didn't clean it well enough. It would keep jamming.
