Why should the Feds be concerned with enforcing existing gun laws that don't seem to work when there are so many new laws that need to be written that WILL work??

    Purple if you must.

There is no doubt, in my military mind, that this happened.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I thought the title was referring to plastic straws. :ugh: That's how f'ed up the world is, having to worry about the ability to use a damn straw.

When you are done snickering, please carry on.

Straws are the symptom that really came to light due to a turtle with one wedged firmly in it's nose.

Just left Ted's Montana Grill. Only straws they had were paper ones on the table. Opened one... realized it.... then tossed it aside like the trash it is.

Also James Hinchcliffe walked in and had lunch.

Since it was purple, they were probably being sarcastic.

I am implacably convinced that it was firmly wedged in the turtle's nose by a radical environmentalist.

36 firearms in 46 days. 2 a day would require ATF and local law enforcement notification. She was a busy lady if she spread them out to stay off the radar.

So many crime guns in the hands of her ex-boyfriend. Who bought them? Why does the ex-boyfriend have them? That's how she got herself in trouble.

Curious how they know she bought 36 through various ffl's when all of them haven't been recovered. I didn't think ATF record keeping was that good. So this is proving to me that there is a registry. So there you go. First step to incremental confiscation.

I had never thought about it, but do dealers have to keep dinied 4473's? Entered into their bound book the same as approved ones?

All run 4473's are kept by the shops. It's the weapons themselves that kept in the bound books, (received from, transferred to). Denial equals no weapon transferred.

    I thought the same thing.
Took a bit for my brain to switch gears and understand what was being said.

When I go there I usually use about 4-5 of those paper straws per visit...

How is that better than the plastic?

If I were king, it'd be like the olden days. (Except instead of Montgomery Wards catalogs, we'd be buying straight from Bud's and sent to our homes directly). Buuuuutttttt....since that's not likely to ever happen, I much prefer strictly enforcing existing laws rather than inventing new ones.

What good does enforcing these laws even do?

So they can't buy a gun from an FFL, welp guess what else exists? The private market. If you can't legally buy a gun your IQ has to be in the single digits if you're buying a gun from an FFL.

All it does is keep honest people from being able to order firearms directly, has zero impact on criminal firearms possession.

And you can't stop the private market without rigorous enforcement of licensing, registration, and inspections. So all this does is inconvenience law abiding citizens for no purpose of any kind. The only "benefit" any of this has is keeping bureaucrats employed off government welfare pushing papers around and answering phones.
