I do not know why we cannot make food without poison in it anymore. At our house, we decided to avoid MSG in our meats. I started seeing that sausages and things that do not have MSG have BHT. I did an internet search on BHT. To start with, the "T" stands for Tolulene, you know, the solvent that will eat contact cement and plastic. The primary use for BHT is for IMBALMING FLUID! No wonder that we lead the most pampered lives in the history of mankind and are plagued with life long illnesses and die from strange deseases. What is wrong with the food industry?

Hes moved on tell her its none of her business, two snaps up. But seriously I don't think anything is safe to eat. My mother bought ice cream a while back and left it out and it looked the same frozen and melted. Kinda weird.

Not so fast. You can't just pick and choose the parts of chemical names. Toluene is completely beast from butylated hydroxytoluene.

ETA: the primary use for BHT is an antioxidant food additive (preservative). It prevents the food from spoiling and lengthens the shelf life.

Just read a few ingredient lists on your favorite foods and watch them become your not so favorite any more. It's astounding how many ingredients such a small food like pop tarts can contain.

I remember idly reading the back of a cereal box a few years ago and being amazed at the chemicals in it. Nothing like needing an advanced chemistry class just to know what was in your breakfast!

Yet another reason I stay vegan. Fruit/vegetables tends to be, well fruit/vegetables. Esp when you grow them yourself and know no pesticides were used.
