I understand that BHT is used as a food preservative. There has also been a debate over the health effects of it since the 1970's according to the links found on the internet. Wiki has a quick little description of the stuff, including embalming fluid, plastics and jet fuel. My background was not in chemical engineering, but electrical technologies, so I do not claim to be an expert. I could buy Braums sausage in Texas, and the ingredient list was "ground pork, peppers, salt". I still think that the closer we eat to the things that are natuarally on the earth, the healthier we will be. My question still remains, Since simple salt has been used to preserve meat for at least 3000 years, why do we have to eat inorganic complex chemical compounds?

I think Printcraft called it right, there has to be a money edge to it
