Also so where clear I want constitutional carry and you shouldent be free if you can't be trusted with a weapon. But I'm trying to think of a practical way to get rid of the backdoor registration we have and appease the unappeasable Dems.
Appeasement is failure. You cannot appease or compromise with someone who wants 100%.

If one looks at the list of (D) that support UBC, one will find that nearly all have voiced support for confiscation and absolutely NO private ownership - at all.

That is the goal. At least for firearms. Then they will start on the next thing, and until you grovel before them.

Seriously. Just read their own words.

One of the problems is, there are gun owners that believe, if we just give them "this", they will leave us alone.

I see that there are 2 problems.

    1. There are a portion of gun owners that are willing to let others people's guns be taken away.....as long as they get to keep the guns they want. If someone is not willing to defend someone else's rights, then they don't deserve the rights they themselves have. Most soldiers who give their lives for this country do so with the knowledge that they were defending the rights of others.... rights they themselves may never use. Selling out the rights of others because you don't personally use that right is a self centered and narcissistic thing to do. They may be gun owners, but they are certainly NOT 2nd amendment supporters.

    2. There are many gun owners that are ignorant of how many times we have already tried this approach in the last 80 years or so.

    For those, it takes education.

They are under the assumption that getting rid of certain firearms would stop these incidents. Remove all AR's and AK's and related firearms, and the "mass shooters" will start using handguns, shotguns and hunting rifles. Then will those same people be willing to ban all handguns, shotguns and hunting rifles to stop those shooters? You can never remove enough "weapons" to prevent evil. You must prepare to handle evil yourself while at the same time doing our best to help those who have embraced evil in their hearts.

Many gun owners don't know about the piles of gun control that we already have on the books in the last 80 years or so. Very, very rarely have we given gun rights away and received ANYTHING in return.

In 1934 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the National Firearms Act. But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

In 1938 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the Federal Firearms Act. But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

In 1968 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the Gun Control Act. But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

In 1986 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the Firearms Owners Protection Act (protection by banning stuff???). But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

In 1993 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act. But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

In 1994 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (AKA assault weapons ban). Thankfully that was only in force from 1994-2004. But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

In 2019 people said "We pass this, and then we're done." Then we got stuck with the Bump Stock Ban. A ban that was not voted on by congress or in any legislation, but arbitrarily "written" into law by an unelected and unaccountable bureaucrat, while offering no grandfathering option breaking the ex-post-facto laws. But the anti-gun folk were NOT done.

Now we have a flurry of legislation in both our state governments as well as the federal government trying to take more our rights away yet again.

As can be seen above, we have tried this approach 7 times, and none of them worked. The only reason the 1994 ban is gone is because of the "sunset" or expiration date in the law. If it were not for that, it would still be on the books today, and the gun control folk would still be asking for more. To top that off, there is a report from our own government that studied and confirmed that the 1994 ban was completely ineffective at controlling gun deaths.

After losing a BIG chunk of our rights and trying this approach 7 different times, many firearm owners have had enough. But there are many more guns owners have never been educated about this and cannot fathom why we are so adimate about rejecting more gun control. Everything above is why.
We have tried 7 times to compromise and it only came to us losing more rights while the other side lost nothing. The other side has worn that card out. There is no compromise that will ever be enough.

The anti-gun crowd has proven that they will never, never, never be satiated. They hunger, thirst and dream of gun control. And although they might be a minority of the population, the 2/3 of americans in the middle are apathetic enough they will not spend time, money, resources or clout to defend something that they themselves do not care about.

That is why many gun owners, including myself, believe that the time for compromise is over. It is time to draw a line. And any politician who crosses that line will have a very, very hard time come the next election cycle. We will do everything we can to get pro gun people in office and these current anti-gun politicians voted out!

Hopefully we can educate and explain to many of those gun owners who find additional gun control reasonable why those controls are NOT reasonable and bring them to our point of view.

NO. How about no GFZ for licensed ltch / ccw permit holders. We’ve already been cleared!

It used to be that way. Before the mid 1990s, our LtCH was not invalid on school grounds. Before a few years ago, they didn't have administrative regulations and metal detectors to prevent us from visiting the gov't centers in Indy. Etc. etc.
