    SO, who "is" the best person for the job? How do you define "best person"?

    Personally I love his platform and that is why I voted for him and will vote for him again. If Hillary had the same platform, I'd vote for her. People need to stop the old argument about the perfect (best) person for the job. Trump was, and is, the best person with the best platform.

    Those who don't like Trump, tell me about the benefits of socialism.
    Your view is that anyone not trump is socialist?

Because, you know, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Because Jesus said absolutely nothing else after that. There are apparently two forms of TDS.

    I think you know the gist of the first sentence in my post. Don't know about you, but I can't seriously consider that Trump will ever be on 5th Ave. shooting people. If you don't like Trump, that's fine with me. I get a little cynical when he is bashed for anything he ever did considering the Dems have done much worse and don't get the same criticism.

    The point is that it is unlikely that Trump supporters could withhold support regardless of what Trump does. Of course the 5th avenue shooting someone is not realistic. It was derived from a Trump quote where he said basically the same thing I did.

    Personally I don't think socialism is going anywhere this coming election, it's more of a stylish, vogue, identity with the people espousing it rather than an economic reality. People like Upton Sinclair, Norman Thomas and the Kingfish couldn't get the job done in the Great depression, so I don't see the current cast of characters getting it done when times are better.

    For me it's Trump, hands down.

    That’s pretty much the choices. Except I’d say the sides aren’t a battle between the constitution or socialism. Not all the candidates are socialists. And a vote for Trump isn’t a vote for the constitution. The bumpstock ban is a step away from the constitution. But, it’s along those lines. A vote for Democrats is a vote closer to socialism, and I’d say closer to cultural Marxism at least. A vote for Trump is to me a vote against all that. So yeah.

It has become very close under the Obama years and will most likely succeed under any one of the democrats that would be elected. Allot can be started through EO's and tied up for years in courts. Long enough to take the shock value (the pain of the thought) and ease into it over a few years. It's happening now! Dang, we have radical muslims being elected to government in spite of 9/11, which was not so long ago.

    They want to take away our guns? Then lets see how long it takes to change our government to socialism once that happens. They won't take the guns away? While the fight is going on (if it came to that), they will be working behind the scenes waiting for their victory. Bloodshed will keep people from fighting. Hunger will cause people to turn against people.....will no longer be an attempt to take guns away, it will become citizen against citizen - for survival. People will hate people who stand up for the constitution because it will cause pain and suffering for the snowflakes. Google and such will certainly make it impossible to communicate properly. Food supply will suffer. Money will be scarce as banks and such close down; forced down. All this while the government is growing socialism. Once the majority of guns are taken, communism will become a way of life.

    Will this happen? I pray not; however, it could happen in my lifetime, even though I am old.

    Another change Trump has lead the charge on is the overall public perception of unbiased news. There never has been such a thing, it was a fiction created by the defunct fairness doctrine.

    That is a lot of hyperbole. Obama was no where near making this country socialist, and there is no candidate that would be able to either. None of them could take control of the countries manufacturing and production facilities.

    You must live in a different place than I do. Obama took over the entire healthcare universe with mandates for everybody from hospitals, insurance, to the people. He completely took over the student loan business. Told the auto industry what they were going to build. Naw, nowhere near socialism...

    BugI02 approves of this message. The idea that we can fail to (re)elect a Republican president while simultaneously electing enough Republicans to the House and Senate to stymie the worst excesses of a Democrat is dangerously optimistic and arguably delusional, without even considering the unfinished business of retaking the courts

    The movement is real, and the makeup of the younger generation leaning that way could play out rapidly by dropping us down the rabbit hole so far it would be very hard to correct it.

    is never more truer today.

    If you are not liberal at 20, you have no heart and if you are not conservative at 40 you have no brain.

    That gives them possibly 5 chances to vote for a bad president and 10 chances to vote for stupid legislators before the coming of wisdom. Don't underestimate the potential damage that could be done
