Black Rifle Disease

So after shooting my AR this weekend my disease is growing. However I spent most of my time working zeroing the sights. Do I have to add that I hate the A2 iron sights?

Personally I love A2 iron's I think they are very easy to use & should had been easily adjusted to be dead on within a few shots.

What sort of problems were you having sighting them in?

BRD is very contagious and EXPENSIVE! I bought my first AR-15 last January and I have built 12 more since then.


BTW, OP, I'll trade you a 6 position take off stock from a S&W M&P15 for your A2 stock.

Is it difficult to build from scratch? I'm looking to build/buy my first AR, and I'm not sure what I want to do. I don't have a lot of semi-automatic rifle experience.

I didn't buy a "kit", I never could find one that suited my needs. Give me a little bit and I'll get you a bunch of Midwayusa links to the items that I bought. Action vise blocks, several punches, barrel nut wrench, etc.....

The only special tool I use is the nut wrench. A coulpe of punches and a vise with a towel on it.

But I can see where having the other tools would be helpful, just not mandatory.

You'll want the Snap ring pliers. I put my barrel on without them, and I really really wish I had a set. You will need an AR Armorers tool. Several wrences in one to include a spanner and barrel wrench. A set of punches is also needed.
