I have both the Colt 6920 as well as the 6940 Monolith, and both are really nice AR-15's. As you can see I've kept them both stock for now. I plan to add a Atlas Accu-Shot BT-10 Bi-Pod to the 6940 soon.

    Accu-Shot BT10 - ATLAS Bipod

I really like the adjustability and the workmanship it has. Both rifles run like scalded dogs, as you would expect from the cost. The prices on these things are finally coming down to realistic levels as availability increases now that "Hussein Fever" has run it's course, and the democrats are fixing to get their a$$ handed to them this coming election next Tuesday. Why do guys have to post pictures like that? Just makes me jealous! When I bought my 6920 I put the DD Omega 7 rails on it to free float it and by the time I was done I should have just bought a 6940.

I'm actually considering selling/trading my 6920 for a 6940 just because I want the monolithic upper and fold down sights. It just doesn't seem right to me to buy a 6920 and make it exactly into a 6940. At the time I bought mine I was just going to leave it stock, but wanted to free float the barrel and have rails so the DD Omega was perfect for me. Now I wish I had the folding sights. The 6940 is up there on my "want" list.

    Nice guns!:rockwoot:

My thoughts were much the same which is why I bought both the 6920 and the 6940. I wanted a stock 6920, but I also liked the Monolith with the fold down sights. There was no way to get both without buying both. You can't have too many AR-15 rifles, especially in today's political climate! Hopefully that will change for the better in another week. Hey guys, for me, the front sight was a non-issue since I have the M2, and since I will take the carry rail off, I
figured the stock 6940 rear flip up would do fine.

As far as cost, I snagged the LE6920 NIB for $1025 shipped:D and the DD Omega for $155, so add the $40 rear sight and its still less than a 6940

You got a steal especially on the DD Omega.

My big reason for wanting a 6940 is the folding sights. I can't stand looking through a red dot with irons in the sight picture. I guess I'm just weird like that. The 6940 is on my someday list.

If my sources are correct, the sights are on the bottom 3rd of the M2.

    excellent choice!!!!

my 6920 is my favorite rifle for sure. I put a KAC RAS, Grip-Pod, Magpul MBUS and Trijicon TA33-8 ACOG on mine. I sometimes find myself just staring at it. lolz
