I applaud your response. I would have done the same thing.

Do you mean that if I walk from Indianapolis through Speedway and back into Indianapolis, I must OC while in the municipality?
Surely you know the answer? Yes, in spedway concealing is illegal, they had the law on record before the state had any law regarding carry so it is "grandfathered" in.

...What would happen if I would get caught concealed carrying in Speedway??

Nothing - it's not enforced. Probably a small fine if it was.

Is there a place to look up other towns that might have laws such as this?

    Why yes there is:

Indiana Gun Laws | Indiana Firearm Laws | Reference Manual

ETA: Actually, I just looked up Speedway (page 259) and found that it is also unlawful for anyone under the age of 21 to carry a firearm within town limits.

    9.08.030 Minors carrying unlawful.http://code.townofspeedway.org/index.htm

Hmm... sounds like Speedway needs to sort through their crap.

If I owned a store, I would post signs at all entrances that read, "We encourage all licensed gun owners to carry freely and openly while shopping with us."

After all, I would want to create the safest and most risk-free environment as possible, and I believe these signs would accomplish that.
The Ace Hardware in greenwood at 31 and Worthsville rd is sort of like this. The owner encourages his employees and customers to carry. They don't have the signs, but strike up a conversation about it and they'll be happy to tell you and may even show you theirs! They also have a radio show on 95.9fm on saturdays at 1pm "two fat guys" or something like that, home improvement show...
