...the Sacramento Police Department reported that it had tracked 349 people prohibited from owning firearms who nonetheless purchased ammunition. Two hundred seventy-five of those purchasers were convicted felons.

Never mind that felons are barred under FEDERAL law from possessing ammo...

California Democrats will push background checks for ammunition

One more law and all our problems will be solved!

    This was quite the gem:

“The ammunition is the fuel that feeds the violence. The gun itself, the hand gun or the long gun or the high-powered weapon is the delivery device. The gas, the fuel, is the ammunition, and no one knows who buys it.”

    Notice anything missing?

I have always thought that the antis should be going after ammo too. If their ultimate goal is go disarm us. This report will do nothing to help the hoarding of ammo.

They have been. They tried banning lead bullets but haven't been totally successful there yet. But they have succeeded in squelching lead smelting in the US. This is but another angle.

I believe in the 1700's or around then California was thought to be an island, and shown as such on maps. To bad it's not, they could make it a little anti-gun lunatic fringe country where all the illegals and anti-gun loons could move to.

IT sure is nice that I can cast my own boolits. I have powder, primers and cases... let the tyrants try and ban lead ammo, I got plenty of lead. Let them try and put a background check on ammo, I will continue to load my own. Heck I have even dabbled in reloading primers with strike anywhere matches.

It could just hurry up and break off from the U.S. Then they could have their own little country out in the pacific.

    .
Same logic as banning ice cream trucks in Greenwood a few years back. When leadership has this much time to mess with this, it's time to start making healthy cuts in staffing and budgets.
