For most of the time, 1911 or FNP9 on the hip. And if in country where there is a chance of bears or cougars, I'd rock the Taurus 608 357 mag in a shoulder holster with 2 8 shot reloads
I stick with my Dan Wesson CBOB in 10mm. It is small enough to carry comfortably and powerful enough to deal with the vast majority of threats. After seeing my first griz in the wild last fall, I am convinced that if I didn't have a rifle or slug gun with me, the primary role of a sidearm is to put yourself out of your misery if they decide to start chewing on you.
Really depends on where and when I am camping. 99% of the time it will be my CC 9. My own kids don't even know I carry, but then again they are not yet familiar with what human nature is capable of either or they would understand why. If I were able to see or anticipate trouble coming, I, as any man, would want to provide ultimate protection and cover for them by sending them into the woods.
Im looking at the judge for camping. I do alot of night fishing and theres times when you cant see to line up your sights. With the judge , point in the general direction and drop the hammer. you would either deter or drop the atacker. Plus you dont have to worry about it jamming in e time of need.
