    Check out MIgunowners.com

They have a OC and a CC forum. They have tons of threads with good info and links to the laws about these questions.

If you travel to MI this is a good resource.

so from the way i understand it, you don't have to oc to be ok in these places you just have to have a ccw/ltch and you can perty much carry as you wish, even in a court. I had never found this before in my searches

If you go to the resource bob links. You will find they just give you pretty much this same list in a different code area and say you can't cc in the places listed. (they are also listed on a MI cpl) Trying to make sense of it, well, I am pretty sure if you open carry in some of these areas, you will find yourself referring to this code in court later.:xmad:

I'll admit there was a lot of confusion as to what is or what is not legal with or without a permit. This MSP update really cleared it all up. I started going to OC seminars about 2 years ago and had my eyes opened. Some of the OC has been going for years as there really was no law against it. That changed about 10 years ago with a AG opinion. Still no law against it, she just said it was legal. Later, Bob

The law that makes it illegal to conceal in those places is here
    Michigan Legislature - Section 28.425o
as I posted in a previous post. The only way to legally carry in those places is openly.

ETA I believe there is another law in MI which prohibits carry in a courtroom either openly or concealed with some exemptions for law officers, judges etc. but I'm not in the mood to look for it at the moment.

Wow, I didn't realize MI's laws were so confusing. Check my logic here. Basically, there's a list of places you cannot carry a concealed weapon under any circumstances. But you may carry openly in most of them if you have a permit to carry concealed in other places. Brilliant.

I know I'm just preaching to the choir, but laws just shouldn't be this difficult to understand and follow. :xmad::xmad:

That's why when MSP posted the update #86, it really is letting LEO know what it what. There is one mistake in the update that MSP is aware off and that concerns OC in banks, credit unions and federal depositorys. With a CPL, you CAN oc in banks and credit unions. Federal depositorys are off limits either way. Now, to mix things up even more, there is an exemtpion box on the front side of a MI CPL. If it is checked, then a person may CC everywhere except, federal buildings, jails, casinos, and courtrooms.
