    Okay
I was trying to remove a castle nut last night . Would NOT move , could not get it loose !!!!!
As I was working on it I was told that "A FEW DROPS OF LOCKTITE " had been used to hold it place instead of staking it .
I tried a little heat and 2 different spanner wrenches .

What else might work ? GO .

Okay this is not my AR . I didn't try a lot of heat . Didn't use a hammer , wrenches have a rubber handle .
If it was mine .I would have relief cut the castle nut or had it so hot I could have removed it by hand .
Yes should have added this at first

More heat on the nut. What kind of loctite?

I believe its red . Blue should have came loose . I was using a MAP gas torch and put more heat than I've EVER used . Like I said its not mine,so red hot and smoking is not an option for me to do .
Also not my 1st , 2nd or 50th rodeo .[ Just reread the last part .Do not mean it in a rude way]

Brownells has a Spikes Castle nut wrench that is made for a 1/2" drive . Looks short enough that a breaker bar will transfer torque to the nut instead of twisting the wrench. Plus it will help torque the nut to speck more accurately.
Plus I can beat the snot out of the breaker bar

Have you tried freezing it? Toss that puppy in the freezer for a couple of days and then lean on it hard.

What type of armour's wench are you using? And is someone else they're too help you?

Take the grip off and torch it good for a few seconds. And have someone (with gloves) hold the lower solid (when it's in the lower block) then crank the bastard. Depending where the loctite ran the end plate my stay on the lower a bit and some threads on the buffer tube might get ate up a touch
