Considered Cricket a few years ago but went with Ting instead. Various plans available that don’t require long term signup and you can switch plans more or less at will. Works for us.

Remember, any service that “piggybacks” is not the same priority as the service that owns the network. If you live in the sticks, they all suck, not enough towers. If your income relies on solid phone service get the name brand network, if not save money, but deal with worse service.

Northern Madison Co here, have used Cricket for 8-10 years now with great service.
We have two phones with unlimited unlimited and unlimited and each with 5 or 10 gig hotspot each month. The plan we have always had is $80.00 a month on autopay for both phones.
I depend on my phone for surfing a few forums, email and porn.
She depends on her phone with what she does for a living.

Invite a friend over that has ATT and see how their service is. You can also see who's towers are where:

That doesn't always work. My brother has ATT and his phone works fine at my house. My buddy has Cricket and it's a crap shoot. I imagine it's prioritizing, but it's not like I'm in a heavily populated area.

I have Verizon and even have good service, but making phone calls is almost impossible sometimes. The whole deal doesn't make sense to me.

do you have broadband internet? if so turn on wifi calling. It sends the calls out through your cable modem. You'll get more reliable service with that.

THe only downside is the calls dont transfer out to the towers if you leave wifi coverage. You'll drop the call after you leave the house and have to call them back.

I actually have Verizon for the internet. I usually have 4 bars and for maybe a mile radius around my house I have a hard time with phone calls. Internet works fine, texting fine, phone calls nope.
