So today I went out to the range and shot the sp1 and now I'm in love with black guns. What is the cheapest one besides a high point? I also love the old stuff so im debating a mauser or the black gun.

    Thanks

Wait, what? You shot a Colt SP1, and you are comparing it to a Hi-Point? :dunno:

When most people use the term "Black Rifle" or "Black Gun," they are speaking about an AR-15 type rifle, not just any rifle that is black...

Of the factory ARs, the Olympic Arms Plinker Plus is about as inexpensive as you can get; we sell them for $599.95.

Sorry meant TACTICOOL gun. But yes a ar15 model is what im after. Looking for a place to buy lowers and uppers heard thats cheaper than just buying a gun outright.

It is cheaper to a degree. Usually not by much. Usually after parts, shipping, and if you ordered a lower off the internet, FFL fees, you aren't saving much. Plus a bare bones build will run you about $600.

Just buy a $400 WASR or an SKS.

What if you have a C and R? Then that negates the FFL fees for sks

Not always cheaper. The market has so many options of Ar's now you can get a complete rifle cheaper than building. But if you have no experience with putting one together, may just want to buy a complete rifle an go from there

Yeah but you still have to pay shipping. And the cost of buying, shipping, and getting a little ammo for the sks will put your total at about $450, and that'll buy you a WASR.

Side note: finding an sks on anyones website other than Bud's is nearly impossible. Plus Ak-47s have more "tacticool" accessories than the sks which you mentioned you wanted.

Wait a minute though. I have 2 hi points. The 9mm and the 45 and neither has ever given me a problem. It is like shooting with a brick in your hand, but give them their due.
