Cheese Toastie or Grilled Cheese Sammich?

Do you fry up a sammich consisting of two pieces of bread and some cheese and try and play it off like you grilled it or do you fry a sammich consisting of two perfect pieces of bread, with a healthy amount of cheese and a little love on top and serve that toastie little goodness up as a CHEESE TOASTIE?

My wife works magic of many kinds in the kitchen. She makes "grilled cheese sandwiches" with various kinds of breads, cheeses, sometimes with vegetables and/or shaved meat, always fried in her cast iron skillet with real butter. She's always used real butter, never margarine.

At the diner with the giant flat cooking grill it's a Grilled Cheese. While most BBQs are grills not all grills are BBQs.

This is what I grew up calling them. I have never before heard the term "cheese toastie"....

My wife is from NE IN... She calls them cheese toasties. So does her ex-step-mom...who also grew up in NE IN, though born in WI.

Me, from west-central IN have always called them grilled cheese.
