I was thinking about this as a gift idea for gun owning family members and friends. The price of ammunition is high so grabbing a box or two for each person out of the stockpile might bring smiles to faces this Christmas.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
My in-laws have been giving ammo for gifts for years. Of course, though they do own guns, they are not gun people. So I occasionally get ammo for a caliber I don't shoot, and I rarely shoot factory ammo anyway and my ammo fort is substantial, but it's the thought, eh?

Did that not too long ago. My family lives a few hours apart and at our age we don't like to travel on the Holidays so we have it early. My sister and her husband and my niece and her husband got a nice care package of 9mm, 38 spl, .223 and 12 ga buckshot. They're all shooters and they, like everyone else were having a hard time finding ammo. At least from the comments it was very appreciated.

Can I be added to your Christmas list?

I got my 20 gauge single shot at 12. Every Christmas in the stocking was a box of 4 shot or a five pack of Winchester slugs.
At 16 I got my 870 12 guage. Every Christmas a box of 4 shot or 5 Winchester slugs. Sometimes both.
At 18 I bought my Winchester 9422XTR 22 MAG. I am 55 and every year dad buys me a box of 22 mag mostly federal 50 grain.
I have not really shot that 22 mag much in many years (I have others which have not skyrocketed in price) so I bet I have a few boxes of 22 mag from the 1980 and 1990’s in the 22 mag ammo can. I try to shoot the oldest first but once it is on the can whi onows

I asked my wife if she though her mom would like ammo for Christmas? My wife doesn't know about any kind of ammo shortage. She just gets some out of the ammo cans when she wants to go shooting. She doesn't know how the ammo gets into those cans. She told me her mom probably wouldn't like ammo for christmas.

As long as you don't have to buy it. You give them a $50 amount of ammo and if prices ever get back to last year, then they are thinking, cheapskate gave me a $10 box of ammo.
