And on a related note, it kinda makes you wonder if air marshals are even necessary?

They havent stopped any active attacks*, and are also willing to divert all resources away from air travel. So they must either be willing to live with the consequences, or they know that the air marshal service isnt really necessary for its stated purpose.

*only random drunks and relatively harmless crazies. No terrorists.

This was my first thought too. If the job they’re supposed to be doing isn’t worth doing then we can get rid of them doing a job that doesn’t need doing.

Nobody is actually targeting planes for terror anymore. The threat simply isn't there.

Defund it all. Return security to the purvue of individual airlines or airports. Stop paying federal employees to sit on planes and give the stinkeye to people who protested peacefully years ago. It can all be scrapped and returned to the taxpayers.

Surely no one here would expect anyone who falls under the purview of the DOJ to actually work for the American people rather than conducting the political dirty work of the current POTUS?

    Asking for a friend...

As if there were any doubt that the restrictions of the Bill of Rights preamble and the first, fourth, and fifth amendments are nothing more than toilet paper to these people, this helps dispel those doubts!

The Norman / English kings may have had the right idea for how to treat traitors and subversives. Anybody have a pike we can use for the head? I'm all out.
