or since that SA 308 is old, sell it to me for 200 dollars :D

    Hmmmm....tempting. Very tempting.

After all, the "old" stuff just isn't safe!

You're a wonderful person, and I'm honored that you would make a concession like that for me!

Tell you what, maybe you should just come pick it all up from me and dispose of it...I'm obviously an accident waiting to happen here. I'll, of course, pay you for your time and effort. And the sooner the better, as I'm frightened beyond words!

Yes, I do know that now....I mean, since I read Mao's 'Little Red Book', and the works of Trotsky and Lenin and Marx, I now realize that I should never think ahead and that everything belongs to everyone. It's governments job to distribute ammuntion equally! From each according to his ability, to each according to his need!

I also understand that money and capitalism are evil, and that all of my ammunition is actually property of the state! I fully admit that any preperation for the future, or "stocking up", was the work of a capitalist swine, and makes me guilty of a crime against the people.

I'm now prepared to have my ammunition confiscated, and to be bannished to Siberia!

Obviousaly some people have missed the point. I for one like to be prepared. I know when spring/summer comes I will be shooting alot. Hence I buy 2-3 boxes of ammo a week. Now wait until this country ellects an anti-gun president. Then go !OMG! I need to buy lots of ammo now. Your money, do what the hell you want to with it. Just hate morons that are not prepared, then go into state of panic.

And some people are replying to the wrong replies, lol.

What I typed here was in response to the "leave a few boxes for someone else" comment.

But, since you bring it up, I don't disagree with you at all that it would be nice to see people living a more preperation-minded way off life. I too roll my eyes when I see people who live in hurricane prone areas rush out to buy plywood and bottled water 12-hours before the storm hits.

However, none of us know what this administration has in store for us. And the idea that you could wake up tomorrow and have to make due FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE with whatever ammunition you already have, is not out of the question.

Personally, keep lots of ammo around - of course, I teach and train and shoot a whole bunch. And what I have in reserve would probably seem like a "massive amount" to most...but I know it wouldn't last me 5-years the way I shoot. Because of that, I'm actually still frequenting Walmart, and gunshops, and ordering off the net, as much extra ammo as I can afford. And I don't doubt that there are plenty of other people doing the same for the same reason.

I will grant you that there are a whole bunch of new gun owners who suddenly need ammunition. And they are new gun owners only because they have finally realized the path our nation is on and that there is a good chance that bad times await us all. But rather than refer to them as "morons", perhaps it would better serve us all to embrace them as fellow patriots, take them to the range, and teach them how to use all those new guns safely, properly and effectively.

    I'm just saying. :)

Sorry I did not mean for my post to be aimed at you. I just am fed up with all the pandamoniam. The same thing happend when Clinton got ellected, and we came out ok. With the state of the economy, it's best that our lovely government focus on that. If not you are just going to have more pissed off citizens. If they did, which I highly doubt pass the imprinting bill. Then all ammo you own will be considerd illegal. There bye will have to disposed of. New gun owners, or not. People need to learn to be prepared, not panic at the last moment. All they are doing is creating a shortage, and raising the price of ammo. Which is not doing any good for any gun owner who shoots, owns guns for self defense, teaches, etc.

Well, I'm not in any way trying to start a fight here, lol....

First, comparing the Clinton years to the problems that our nation faces now is apples and oranges. I'm not making my plans for the future based on the idea that the Obama administration will be a repeat of the Clinton Administration - there are just too many unknowns that we are dealing with right now, from terrorism to world-wide economic collapse. All it will take is a properly places terror attack or a couple of food riots to get a suspension of gun and ammunition sales...heck, in the time between our posts here he's talking about an assault weapons ban and gunshow ban because of the drug wars in Mexico.

Second, Americans have lived awfully comfy for the past 60-years. Even the poorest of our citizens generally have hot food, and you're hard pressed to find very many who have ever known a hungry day in their lives. With 3-generations living in that fake reality, it's no wonder we have such a hard time getting others motivated towards preparedness. I, personally, find it really cool that there is a mass awakening right now in regards to it all! I'm glad people are buying out everything there is for sale and that manufacturers are behind in filling orders! The more guns and ammo in the American peoples hands, the happier I am!

Lastly, and I mean no offence, but if this sudden mad rush for ammunition is crimping your style, then I must ask, who was it that really didn't plan ahead and prepare here? ;)

I have plenty of ammo to shoot, and be able to defend myself. What gets me is people who intentionaly whipe out the shelves at Walmart. Why not just order offline, then you never even have to leave your house. You have some people that just shoot from time to time, or maybe buy a new caliber. Then they can not even get ammo, to try out their new gun. Also it really puts a hurt on the mom and pop shops. They have to jack up their prices, just to make a buck. My Dad was in one of the local shops the other day. The owner was on the phone with one of his distributors. They told the owner that they where going to support Walmart first. That's is messed up if you ask me. I buy 2-3 boxes of ammo a week, and have been for a while. Honestly though it sucks having to pay $13 more for a value pack of .40, because Walmart is out. Though I suck it up, and buy anyways.

Well, perhaps they buy all there is on the shelf because they have the money, it's there and they want it. :D

And maybe some people don't want to pay shipping, or leave a paper trail of the ammunition they buy, so they pick up what they need in person.

And I know how I do business: One customer calls me and needs a bid on a $30,000 job, and another calls me needing one on an $800 job. There are only so many hours in the day, so guess which one is getting done first. Walmart is the biggest buyer of ammunition in the US, and if I was a distributor, I'd want to keep them as a customer too.

The paperwork for a 50-pallet buy from Walmart is probably the same as that of the mom and pop shop, not only that, 50-pallets keeps my doors open and my employees paid - two cases to a gun shop in Bumblewater, IN doesn't - so why wouldn't I want to service Walmart first?

And what you are "sucking up" is called the free market. Supply and demand - the American way! And I can't help but chuckle at the rationale being used to justify this anger, lol.

If you walked into any store and needed one box of ammo, and all there was on the shelf was one box, would you ask the clerk if you could only buy half of it...ya know, to be "fair" to the next guy who didn't get the the store before you did but still might want to buy some? Give me a break

Basicly what you are saying is screw the small buisnesses, and only support the manopolies? Yes Walmart is a manapoly. If they did not sale ammo, I would still have it regardless. If there is only one box of ammo left, oh well I'll buy it. Big difference between one box, and multiple boxes. Yes I know what supply, and demand is. Worried about a paper trial for ammo lol, now that makes me laugh. Coomon sence says though if you are going to buy a large ammount, buy bulk. In the long run it will save you money. I'm not going to argue with you. I know if the **** ever hits the fan, who I would stand by.

fighting for the mom and pops is a lost cause here, when there are self proclaimed patriots that rail against outsourcing, whining about trade deficits with china, and claiming we are all heading towards socialism...all the while doing all the business they can with walmart just to save a buck or two.
