Correct, but most people look for any shred of evidence to paint an entire political party with a broad brush based on one of their "member's" actions.

When Jared Laughner shot up Arizona, when that dude took hostages in the Discovery Channel HQ, when Anders Brevik did his little thing - They looked for books they read... anything they could to say "HE'S A CONSERVATIVE! THIS IS WHAT THEY DO!"

... When, in actuality, they were mentally unstable fringe nutjobs. The Discovery HQ guy wanted humans eradicated so the Earth could live; Brevik apparently had World of Warcraft characters named "Conservative"... Laughner was obviously just nuts, but that didn't stop them from blaming Palin and her little "crosshairs" map (but the Democrat version of the map was never reported... )

Look at what just happened in Carson City... a otherwise normal guy, shooting up a IHOP with AK-47's.

Not saying police cant handle situations like this... BUT they are NEVER there in the less than one minute window when SHTF. They are there for post-event justice in cases like this.
