I suggest looking hard at whether to buy a spare battery. I found them to be very pricey. What I did was buy another tool with a battery, which was generally $50 or less than buying just the battery. Once I had enough batteries, I bought things without batteries.

    This will be my plan.

Ah, what do you consider pricey?

Home Depot $99.00 for a spare battery with the "fuel gauge", you must have been looking on Amazon, they are lot Sam's Club vs. Wal Mart. Sam's has a lot of good prices, bit a lot of times you can buy it cheaper at Wally World.

That's the lowest Ah rated Ego battery. The 5 Ah goes for quite a bit more and the 7.5 Ah is really out there. The blower I purchased came with the 5 Ah.

Be careful having "too many" batteries.
I bought 5 RYOBI tools, and I have 5 batteries.
Right now, only 1 battery works. Because the others sat on a shelf, and their voltage went so low the charger thinks there is a problem with it.

I'm following a procedure I found to recondition it. But I'm waiting on a 40vDC pwr supply from amazon.
I bought one, which DIDN'T work. :xmad:

That link has it at $163. Lowes has it at $149.

A string trimmer with a 2.5Ah battery is $189, tool only is $149.

So, this is what I am talking about. You can pay $149 for a battery or $200 and get the trimmer with it.

Always an issue. I have two 5Ah and two 2.5Ah batteries now. The quick charger that came with the mower can charge a battery in about the same time it takes me to drain the same size battery. It's been perfect for my use.

Actually I'm going to buy the combo (triimer/blower + battery and charger) for 279.00 and get another battery so both will have one.

Gotcha, I just got an email with the info, but didn't realize it had been previously announced. Any word on MSRP?

Don't know, don't care. Using a Mower of that type is a power hungry beast, plus I believe that mowing ANY damp/wet grass with that will be a nightmare as time goes on.
Plus I have the mindset that no way that thing is going to outlast my old ZTR, which was 15 years old and never used more than 1.5 gallons of gas to mow a 1.2 acre yard
and was mulching at that. The batteries are not cheap and will drive up the end cost when you have to start replacing them.
