    Similar to what many people in the Tell City / Branchville / St. Croix area deal with. There are literally hundreds of old "personal use" coal mines up and down the SR 37 corridor. They can, and do, cause all kinds of construction issues. Especially with SR 37...

    I had never considered it, but sure...Why pay for coal when dynamite was way cheaper and you could get it at the corner store...and a pick axe even cheaper yet.

    No dynamite needed! Just commence to pickin' & shovelin'!

    GPR (ground penetrating radar) & deflectometer surveys of the highways down that way can be downright interesting. That is, of course, provided you're interested in such things. (which I am!) :laugh::laugh:
