Can someone explain what they want to do with two pools? Where does one school system put TWO pools? One in the high school and one in the middle school, or ??? My kids are swimmers and I can actually sympathize with wanting aquatic upgrades... most school natatoriums are pretty bad. But seriously, TWO pools? :dunno:

My local schools have two pools, yes middle and high school. But the middle school used to be the H.S.

The plan is to turn the existing pool into a band performance area.....then build an addition that is a natatorium. That building would contain both pools....I am not sure why 2 pools? Maybe a pool for diving and a pool for swimming? They are 25M pools, whatever that means. I don't follow swimming. Is a 25M pool Olympic size? Total cost $10-12M. I think they are asking for $50-52M total. We actually have 2 votes....1 for buildings and 1 for administration purposes (teacher raises and pensions I think).

25 meters- half the length of a "Olympic Sized" pool which is 50 meters long and 25 meters wide.

Oh, and for safety sake, if I ever start talking positively about raising my own taxes so the school can put in a pool...or 2 pools, call 911. I have probably suffered a stroke.

Both of Huntington Co.'s referendums went down to defeat.

Well, it's good news for the doctors that get to deal with the kids respiratory diseases from the leaky, moldy HS.

Things such as this absolutely need to be dealt with. No question. When in the trades we dealt with "Sick building" issues a lot.

The real issues come when the bids go out and the moneys start to exchange hands.......Ask me how I know this. It is most enlightening.
