I understand the frustration and educating the deer in the early season as well. I have seen and got the big bucks starting from oct 23rd to November 10. This time frame and a cold front you just never know what will come by. I only have a 10acre woods to hunt and all the fields are picked. This year I planted the logging trails with turnips and radishes and they have grown tall, size of baseballs. Did this to see if they would hang around longer in the small woods longer.

Had a button right by my tree, and a doe fawn at 10 yards.
3 mature does around 35/40 yards.
Got down and found a decent rub.
Buddy found a good sized scrape a little farther down, by my old gun stand LOL

Got into my spot a bit early at 6:30; as morning light approached a big tom roosting up in a tree 20 yds out let out a few gobbles, then a few more. Had 4 does come by at 9:15 then a forkie harassing his doe playfully danced around me at 10am for a good five minutes before walking off into a bedding area to the north. Good times, can't wait to get out again in the morning.

Buddy had a forky chase a doe past him today, saw a busted 6 pt too.
I saw 2 decent does and dunno what the 3rd was, bedded about 90 yards out.
They got up around 8:15 and went NE into the wind ( two did ).
The last one to get up, smaller, went south on top of an acorn ridge.
They were bedded within 50 yards of the road down in a thornpatch.
    Big oaks nearby.

I'm not able to make it back out till Friday morning to start hunting again. 2 buddies went down this weekend and one said there was a smaller buck following a doe around, but didn't see a whole lot of other deer. I generally like to hit the first weekend or two, then take a break till the last weekend in October. Supposed to storm on Thursday or I would get out earlier.

Life’s been busy. Selling my house. Moving. Havent had time to be on here or hunt much.

My best move this year was getting cellular game cameras.

Got this guy two weeks ago. Pressure off now. I’ll fill the doe tags as time allows.

What's with all the ginseng thieves, why is ginseng so popular?

It's not easy to find, grows slowly and is expensive. Lots of money to be made by those willing to put in the time.

Indiana has put some giants on the board the last couple of days. We're starting to see daytime pics of the small bucks and have had one new shooter buck walk through at night.

I pulled my sd cards will check them tonight after I’m done in the woods! Work has me tied up for awhile, taking advantage of this evening.
