So what you are saying is candidates' positions on gun laws are the single most important issue facing this country and all other factors should be ignored? Not being a one issue voter doesn't make one anti-American. :nono:

Once you lose your second amendment rights, any and every other right falls so much easier. It's not about being a one issue voter. It's about recognizing some issues are important enough to make a stand on.

If I may...It's about voting for people that come as close as possible to representing your principles rather than voting for those that claim to address your interests. For example: whether or not a candidate supports UBCs is about a particular interest---whereas if a candidate supports the Second Amendment and believes it means what it meant the day they ratified it and will fight to restore it and fend off all future infringements, that speaks to principles. Candidates that do that for the rest of the Constitution as well, are the ones I try to find.......and none of the democrats running are it.

I am going to support your post except, I will probably vote for Bernie. That being said, am a lifetime member of CCRKBA, GOA, and a benefactor life member of the NRA. Vote your paycheck, lobby your special interest.
You do understand that if Bernie gets what he wants (get rid of the legal protections for manufacturers and retailers) gun prices will sky rocket until they end up being bankrupted by legal costs. That was why the law was passed to begin with, your fellow flyers made the decision to sue gun makers out of business.

I really don't care if a voter decides her/his vote based upon one issue that is very important to them. What I do have is a reaction when people say if you don't think like they do, you're not patriotic and are anti-American. We're a big county with lots of different opinions. Thinking differently doesn't mean you love this country any less.

The Democrat candidates seem to have two agenda's (1 ) Do away with or limit gun rights (2) Give as much free stuff away as possible.
    # 1 is about control of the people and # 2 is about buying votes.
I noticed none of the candidates were asked how they planned to pay for all the free programs or why they included illegals. A much different debate than the last Republican debate where they were constantly pitting the candidates against each other and questioning their answers.

Thanks for your support. On the paycheck thing, my take is that voting Republican is (usually) voting your paycheck; voting Democrat is (amost always) voting somebody else's paycheck. I do not care what other people do with their paycheck. I just wish they didn't take such an interest in mine.

You can THINK or SAY whatever you want. When that thinking leads to government ACTIONS that are the very definition of tyranny, which include weapons registration, then you are violating the founding tenets of the Constitution of this country. Being anti-American is about ideals, not the dirt we stand on. Being patriotic is about the ideals, the republic, not the look of the flag which represents it.

Vote your paycheck...the rallying cry of Unions, Socialists, and Communists. When what the leaders are saying is vote us your paycheck, while all of their obedient followers who are wearing their wallet like a set of blinders in the voting booth is just singing a chorus that they don't understand the meaning of.

Well said and direct to the point.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who have valiantly served, put their life on the line for this country, and yet favor stiffer gun control measures. I'd like to see keyboard commandos call them anti-American to their face. The problem here is when we demonize people who think differently than us.

I remember a time when the vast majority of democrat candidates (and the vast numbers of democrats) were more like Webb and the kooks and fringe (both candidates and voters) were more like Hillary and Sanders.
Indeed. I was actually surprised to hear him talk like he did, it broke from the "norm".

The Democrats have lost it on many issues, every issue. They spent the first four years attacking the 1st Amendment, on which they have maintained a continuous attack. They have spent the last four years also attacking the 2nd Amendment. They're socialists, they're cheats, they're liars, they're baby killers, they're divisive, they're hypocrites, they're evil, they are everything that is destroying America. How any American could still vote for them at this point is beyond stupid.

And after seeing all those nice things you said about the Church. You do realize the majority of your parishoners in the USA are democrats, don't you?

And 40% of the democrats own firearms.

Common sense gun legislation is called the 2nd Amendment. The path you argue for was followed in Weimar Germany...it led to a lot of pictures where soldiers were following orders and citizens were following gun laws.

Also, I hock a loogie on your intimations of cowardice. Getting a little thin skinned in a political discussion aren't we? Of course I've found few on the left who actually want a discussion after others start discussing.

    Have a happy tyranny.

Assuming you are referring to my comment. Sad to say, a lot of my fellow parishioners affiliate with the Democrats, and they are very much to blame for the current political mess. They are a source of great confusion and scandal. If they would just live who they say they are, we would not be where we are politcally in this country.
