Does anyone know the significance of finding a dime?

There was a stretch of about three weeks last year, that I would find a dime on the ground, in my path, every couple of days.
After parking and stepping out of my vehicle, there would be a dime. Walking in the park, there would be a dime.
Taking my pups for a walk, there would be a dime. This continued, randomly at different places, and I even mentioned this fact to the Mrs., of always finding
a dime. Not a penny (which those are always found since no one wants them), or a nickel, quarter, dollar, etc.. it was always a dime. I found it rather odd, that I kept finding all these dimes.

Neither of us gave it much thought at the time, but now, was there something more to it?

Another example is, the day a friend (my old boss) had passed, I left work, walking across the parking lot with him on my mind, and there ten feet from my truck, was a dime. Again, I didn't give it a second thought, and simply picked it up as I always do.

I wasn't aware of the beliefs, folklore, history, a sign, or whatever one would consider it, of finding a dime.
It was mentioned to me, so I did some quick research on it.
After doing so, I'm wondering if I've overlooked something, with being unaware.
There are things that simply can't be explained, but I will certainly be more conscious, even if it's poppycock.

I apologize for rambling, but this has had me thinking.

Dime is "tell me" in Spanish. Ancient Conquistador spirits are asking permission to move on.

    Apply purple if you're sane.

    Three things come to mind:

It's the lightest, smallest coin; easy to lose.
the U.S. mints more dimes than quarters or nickels.
Pennies are full ( in both ways) and easy to ignore.

If you're kind, the dime will shine.
If your not, your corpse will rot !

I found some dimes on my dad's headstone a couple times.

Coins (of all denominations) are often laid on headstones .... it's an old custom.
This is the poet, James Whitcomb Riley's memorial, located in Indy at Crown Hill cemetery.
Note the coins in the upper-left corner. (left-click photo to enlarge)

OK...OK...I'll tell what it really means.

It means you're spending too much time looking at the ground. Your head should be up and on a swivel so that you know who and what is around you at all times.
A wise man once said, "If you're surprised by an armed robber wearing a ski parka on a hot July day, your situational awareness sucks.
