Actually if I were to hunt, this would probably be my first choice. Argentine 1909 rechambered in 30-06 and sporterized. It's a tack driver with about a 2 or 2.5 lb. trigger.

Really liking the wood on that, even though it's not particularly fancy.
It's also way better looking than (sorry, Mosin guys, but my opinion only) the butt-ugly Mosin.

I always shied away from "sporterized" milsurp rifles, but they did a nice job with this one. Definitely not a "bubba" job. They basically built a sporting rifle using a milsurp receiver. Subtle difference maybe, but a difference nonetheless.

Some sporters look good (like the pic a couple above).
Used to see some nice ones in the old Fajen catalogs, also some not so nice ones (funky stocks, ugly stocks, or nice ones with too much adornment).
Clean is where it's at IMHO.
    Nice rifle :)

I'm guilty of uglying up my Mosin. To me they were ugly from the factory so I slapped a Boyd's thumb hole stock on mine. Sacrilege to purists but I like it. Sorry, no current pics but it may be at ProTeq tomorrow.
My SKS is in a Boyd's Monte Carlo too. It had a POS folder when I got it.
