I used to have a gun that I would have bet would never show up in an action movie , an 1887 lever action winchester 12 ga.

It's the gun arnold is using in T2.

    OK. I'll admit this:

My life-long love affair with the 1911 began by watching Magnum P.I. (first run) in the 80's with my dad.

I have one just like Magnum's, in the safe...right now.

A (well) used Ferrari 308 can be had in the $35K-range...

    ...soon.

We all do. It is the reason behind 3 out of 4 gun sales.

Four years slinging guns across the counter. Every single night a movie reference. Most popular at the time--the Joker's revolver in Batman. Boy, that never got tired.

Didn't Don Davis say that he went to movies just to see what guns were featured so that he had those guns in stock to sell?

    Movies push guns.

Shucks, just look at INGO. Shortly after The Avengers we had a 100 page pean thread to Smith & Wesson's lump of plastic, the M&P, as the greatest pistol to walk the planet.

a former friend had one of those. about the most dangerous gun ever. it would slam fire every time.

on-topic, there is an article in the latest American Rifleman, on how the popularity of the model S&W 29 sales skyrocketed during the dirty harry series.

We have a 308 GTB from 1976 at work right now, in fiberglass.
    Not many were made.
