I remember many many moons ago on forums where "troll" or "trolling" really meant someone with no intention of positive contribution.

Nowadays the term is just thrown at anyone who you disagree with.

Actually name calling is a pretty good tactic, you identify your enemy with a descriptive name that's easy to use and has a negative connotation about it. Makes it easier for the less informed to grasp and hurl about. I'm sure it's been in use for a LONG time but there was this fella named Hitler several years ago that really raised the bar.

Tired of trolls and the way they treat you and others, stop the feeding and put them on your Ignore List, after a while the troll withers
from the lack of attention and seeks out another source to feed upon their unsuspecting victims.

Go to your User CP settings.

Click on "Edit Ignore List" in the left column under "My Account"

Under the middle column Where it says "Add member to your List" there is a box beside Username.

Enter the trolling members name, then click OK on the right side.

VIOLA, You'll never see what the Troll says again, you'll see that a post was made, but not the content.

Of course this has been a test of the I.A.T.R.S.
