I think that morbidly obese people often have other health issues to deal with than thinner, or rather healthier people. I don't think that they would deal with starvation as well.

This is true. We will be the first ones to cannibalize people. While slim people don't have a lot of meat they will be easy pickings for my breed. Fat, but yet in shape enough to jog 2 miles a day.
