    It's really about hyper sensitivity.
Larry kings comments about Jews telling Jewish jokes making fun of themselves and no one else can is just ludicrous.
Simply put, we are either all equal or we are not.
the dreaded N-word is either bad for everyone or it's OK.
Jewish jokes are either anathema or they are OK.

Really, this is the first step to getting over racism.
Providing special privileges to people that whose ancestors were mistreated only causes divisions.

When EVERYONE treats all men as equals, only then will we have peace and real equality.

The double standard makes me want to :puke:

I'm just waiting for the first public person who does something similar to have the guts to NOT apologize, drag it out for weeks and weeks, and really make the whole nation examine the issue. The best way to combat the left's so-far successful effort to control the language of public debate would be head on.

Words have meaning. They convey ideas. Control the language that can be used/permitted in debate and you in large part control the debate.

I don't like the double standard either. I am glad, however, that the use of that filthy word has become socially unacceptable. As a child in the 60s, I heard it quite often, and it wasn't the context in which Dr. Laura used it.

Yes, black folks should stop using it themselves. Yes, you should be able to use the word when you're trying to make a point and you're not referring to a person or a people with the word.

If you are below a certain age, however, you may not understand just how common racism was.

Today, I think black against white racism is the larger problem. Not so when I was a child.

I've heard the audio and I have to say that what has happened seems to prove the point she was making. If a white person used the word they will be crucified but not a black person.....

I think she has one of the best programs on radio. She did more FOR the benefit of others than every other minute or raidio ever broadcast, other than Dave Ramsey. He's no Dr. Laura but he is pretty good.

America needs to unite under a common banner

I was never a big fan of Dr. Laura but this is typical of the double edged sword used to protect some and crucify others . My friends who are black kinda think this is all getting out of hand . I agree but liberty is worth fighting for and so do they .

I think we should get some thought detecting electrodes implanted in everyone's brain to detect if they even think that word. If they do they should be sent to some gulag sensitivity camp.

Guys, I'm going to say this one time.

THIS IS NOT GOING TO TURN INTO A DISCUSSION OF RACE. Period.

This is about her being censored I thought? Having to bow down because of affliations.

    Again, some irony in your

You do understand what censorship is, correct? Sponsors pulling ad dollars from a radio host because they disagree with what he/she said is not censorship. Its a business decision. Its the free market and the freedom to associate with whom you wish. Individuals can censor as they wish. You don't have first amendment protections in my house. You don't have first amendment protections at your job either. Why is this Dr. Laura person different? Do you spout your White Nationalism crap at work? No. You don't. You would get fired, i.e. have your sponsorship dropped. No one would pay you because of the actions you have taken. Private censorship is a wonderful thing because it respects property rights. Many would argue they are the foundation of this nation. So yes, :ugh:.

No one censored her at all. She said the N word at least 6 times. Censorship would have been the FCC doing something about it or shutting her down.

It's censorship if she was forced off the air by her employer for what she said, to some degree anyway. The whole I'm quitting to bla bla bla is usually a way to save face for the employee.

:dunno: Something bad happened to a radio host who I happen to despise. It kind of makes me feel all giddy inside.:D As level.eleven put it, this is about private sponsorship, not public censorship. You really need to understand your accusations before you begin to flame.

How dare you speak with such logic and understanding. ;)

You really hit the nail on the head with this post!:+1:

Oh yeah........and I really doubt NHV even has a job.

Hmmmm, I was under the impression that silencing a voice was censorship. They're company, they're rules, huh?

That's cool. When America does some Iranian/Chinese censorship, it can be called a Government decision.

    COOL.

Its the free market and the freedom to associate with whom you wish.

The Doctor was NOT wrong about anything she said & she is being punished for it.

What does her opinion matter if she can only speak out on certain thing's, and not everything.

Individuals can censor as they wish.

It's called ignore. But Im curious, many people agreed with her, from what it sounds like.... SO WHY CENSOR HER?

BECAUSE HER MESSAGE IS THE TRUTH? IT'S OFFENSIVE?

    Yeah probably offensive... cough...double...cough...standards.

There seems to be an agenda in silencing the truth revolving what she had to say.

You don't have first amendment protections in my house.

Was she speaking to just YOU? OR THE ENTIRE NATION? Big differences.

You don't have first amendment protections at your job either. Why is this Dr. Laura person different? Do you spout your White Nationalism crap at work? No. You don't.

Again. It's the double standard... I could listen all day to other political ideologies, but as soon as mine come up, im magically evil and MUST BE shut up.

This speak volumes for the truth, yet again. IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG, I'd encourage my opponent to voice it, so it could be proven wrong.

So explain why people can express they're mainly socialist views and have nothing happen to them.

Glad ter bah an Ameriakan yes r iz.

Private censorship is a wonderful thing because it respects property rights. Many would argue they are the foundation of this nation. So yes, :ugh:.

I dont have a problem with you ignoring her, me or anyone else.

I do have a problem when Bosses get angry, about someone they hired to give her opinion, and the second it didnt jive with they're bs PC standards, and promote feel/fool goodism, and put a certain group of people back on the defensive, but instead showed the hypocrisy of the situation, of which MANY people OBVIOUSLY AGREED WITH, AND SUPPORTED - THEN WHAT IS THE ISSUE?

No one censored her at all. She said the N word at least 6 times. Censorship would have been the FCC doing something about it or shutting her down.

    See above.

SHE was chosen for a reason.

As soon as her OPINION turned into something her boss didnt like, no matter what her fans thought, then she was punished. AND FOR THE TRUTH.
