    Priced McMaster-Carr Short-Length Cobalt Steel Titanium Nitride Coated -- 1/8" & #29 ~ $5 each plus 8-32 tap for hardened Steel $14 ... ( maybe get 2 of each bit - just in case )

--- Shipping $10 seems excessive --- any places in NWI that sell the McMaster-Carr brand ?

Shipping is cheaper than Gas - so Ordered this morning -- email says be here tomorrow

You should use a press drill with your receiver dead center and level. I'd also like some recommendations on good bits.
I always recommend Norseman and then KnKut.

If you're doing it by hand mechanic length is less prone to breaking vs jobber length. Jobber length is easier to find and replace though.
Get cobalt and watch your speeds.

I appreciate the input here, I have several assorted sets that have missing bits/drills & am looking for a new complete set (16+) that is somewhat readily available. Don't mind spending up to $150 if needed

Hopefully the last set I will ever buy based on my age & frequency of need.

How big do you need to go and what material are you primarily working on?

Probably can't get a cobalt kit that goes up to 1/2" for under $150, but definitely can get high speed steel kit for well under that.
