INGO: "Will Freeman bring up his 870?"
Freeman: "...."
Have I told you guys about my 870 at Shootrite?
Now don't be leaping to any life altering conclusions here...So sitting in the bottom of a grocery bag with a bunch of stuff piled on top of it isn't the same as a good holster? [making note]
With a lot of IMPD on here maybe we'll finally find out what make/model something was?
I'm working race festivities, so I'm not in the office. I can try to find out, though.
Yep. The little NAA's are not very carry friendly. No matter how you carry them.NAA .22
No indication that it happened any differently than what was reported.
You can Google NAA .22 drop safety and see he's not the first. In order to make it (mostly) drop safe, you need to make sure the hammer is resting in one of the safety notches between the chambers of the cylinder or carry with the chamber under the hammer empty. Even then, a very small amount of hammer movement unlocks the cylinder and it can rotate to the next live round.
Is that a Sig P320 variant?NAA .22
Thanks for the info BBI. If that was your ONLY (and I do mean ONLY) carry choice, hammer on empty chamber sounds like the best decision. Having 4 rounds of .22 LR or .22 Magnum is better than nothing (or a .25). As for the "green bag" carry, dude was 76, coulda been a fanny pack and the millennial writing the story has no concept of these things.NAA .22

I would be a darn shame if he needed the firearm to defend himself and pulled a sausage out of the bag instead.Reusable grocery bag. Gun was in the bag with the groceries he was going to purchase.
I don't know if he bought any sausages but if so this might be the first literal sausage sack holster.
Defending yourself with a “sausage” is called the Henry Weinstein maneuver!
All guns can discharge upon dropping. You don't need fingers to make the gun go bang.
