Conibear 110's, 1.5 coil springs, or live traps.
Taken quite a few out for city folks with those.
On the leg hold or killer traps I place them such that the den is then covered, only things coming out get nuked.

I'd say you should give him government sponsored healthcare, give his kids a free education, make sure he gets to vote, don't charge him taxes, and make all the kids in the school learn groundhogese.
Well I took Patience's advise and armed myself with a straight-edged spade to apply a measured force to the back of its cranium... but the beast climbed up a 2x6 that a few of the elementary kids put down the window well this morning.
I'd ask the mods to close this thread now that the critter is gone, but some of you guys are having too much fun expressing your creative ideas.
P.S.- had a honey badger in a live trap as back-up.
I think you would be ok, given what the law says, but I would get permission in writing. As it would be pest elimination instead of hunting, it seems that a 22 with a suppressor might be prudent, too. Just my thoughts.
