I have a max multi tool in my truck. Love it but they aren't that cheap. here is a link for one Max Ax Multi Purpose Tool. I found it for less on ebay and government liquidation has them from time to time.

A cheaper option for an Avalanche Shovel you can take an Aluminum Scoop Shovel. Drill out the Rivet Replace it with a Bolt and Nut. Tada...

The only thing to be aware of is the Scoop Shovel is about 6" wider...

Regardless which one you use keep a can of Pam handy. Spray on the shovel prior to using, materials do not stick to the shovel as well...

I think it is against the law to sell those....has been since 1870 or something...OH, you mean the shovel not the little yellow guy.....Join the Chinese army? Seriously though, I'm very happy with the Gerber folding shovels we have.

Ace hardware had some small folding shovels. Might be able to look at them.

The army surplus store can sell you a good quality tool for around $25/ I have one behind the seat in my truck all the time.

I got one for the gf for Valentines Day! She hated it! Of course it was more of a gag gift but a practical one at that.

She can keep it in the trunk of her car, what can she do with a Coach purse?

Well E-tools are one sale at Meijer for $8 and change. I dont know about the quality. But I opened one up as I got a super dirty look from the gf. They felt like the ones I used.
