    That's the guys name.
You know, like John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Richard Milhouse Nixon, Lyndon Baines Johnson, George Herbert Walker Bush.

If you want him for your president get used to it. You're gonna hear it a lot!

How many people refer to them as J. Fitzgerald Kennedy, R. Milhouse Nixon, L. Baines Johnson, or G. Herbert Walker Bush? Making a big deal out of the name his parents gave him is childish and lowers political discourse to roughly the 3rd grade level. It is unnecessary and weakens any valid, legitmate argument you have against him. Also, you shouldn't assume that I am voting for him simply because I won't act like a child and say OMG WTF HIS MIDDLE NAME IS THE SAME AS THE FIRST NAME OF THAT ONE BAD GUY THAT WE HAD HUNG!!!!! Obviously, him having a strange name means he is completely wrong for public office. That's the angle you are going for, right?

No... I'm not going for any angle. I simply responded to your question.
    But since you asked...

Mr. Obama is one of the most liberal Senators we have in the Congress. His inexperience is vast. His stance on the 2nd Amendment is that he feels it's unnecessary, at least today - it may change in a few weeks. He has not been vetted by anyone or anything. No body knows a thing about him. His track record is as long as your finger. He's just not qualified.

And, oh yeah, Muslims want to rule the world or didn't you know? And Obama has a Muslim father, or didn't you know? And, Muslims attacked our country, or didn't you know? And, we're in a religeous war against global terrorism, or didn't you know?

And you still like this guy for our Commander-In-Chief?

I don't think calling him by 'anything', 'weakens any valid, legitmate argument you(I) have against him'.
He's already a pretty weak candidate.

You seem to want to defend him. Voting for him or not is your choice.
If he gets nominated you're going to hear a lot more about Mr. Hussein Obama. It won't go away.

I don't think I said that I like him or want to vote for him. I asked why you have to weaken your position by resorting to third grade attacks on his name. I agree that he is incredibly liberal and has a warped and wrong view of the 2nd amendment. That's what I mean though. There are legitimate arguments against him, why resort to name calling? And his father was Kenyan, his step-father was the Muslim.

Since we are going to ask rhetorical questions, you do realize that it is a small minority of Muslims committing most attacks, right? You do realize that Dearborn, Michigan has the largest population of Muslims outside the Middle East, and yet Dearborn isn't in tatters and reduced to rubble by terrorist attacks, right? You do realize that terrorists come in all nationalities and all religions, right? You do realize that the largest pre-9/11 terrorist attack on US soil was committed by a white man, right? You do realize that groups like the Animal Liberation Front are terrorist groups comprising middle class white folk, right? you do realize that bombing abortion clinics is terrorism, and it is committed by Christians, right?

Keep in mind that I haven't said anything about my political leanings when you come back. All I have done is try to keep the arguments based where they should be, and not on rhetoric or third grade attacks about names. If Obama had changed his name, he would be attacked for being ashamed of his past and who he is. Also keep in mind that having a screwy name doesn't disqualify you from the presidency. Just ask Millard Fillmore, Chester Arthur , Rutherford Hayes or Grover Cleveland.

Thank you, TomN, for answering my initial question on why you sometimes do it. I can understand that, being PC sucks.

In Illinois, and in some other very restrictive states, there is a FIREARMS OWNERS IDENTIFICATION Card. F.O.I.D. card.

To buy a gun in Illinois you go and apply for a F.O.I.D. card, pay your fee and wait about 6 weeks to get your card. ONLY AFTER you have your FOID card are you allowed to begin the process of buying a weapon. So after your 6 week waiting period you then go to the gun store where you pick out your gun, submit to your background checks, pay for your gun, and then you have ANOTHER waiting period. It varies by type of gun you buy, but figure 3 to 7 additional days.

I believe you have to renew your FOID card ever few years. If you don't then all the guns you own legally may be considered illegal weapons. Illinois is a great state! They lost common sense years ago.

    GOT THAT RIGHT!!!

Episcopus, I think you're just a **** disturber, trying to get under people's skin. That's just stupid. And, nobody is behaving or writing like a 3rd grader.

I wonder where you've been the last 7 years as the democrats and the left have called our sitting president nearly every name under the sun, and have hurled insult upon insult at him? Bush Bashing has become a blood sport!

Mr. Bush has been subjected to the most despicable, vile, and hateful rhetoric I've heard in my 60+ years. I'm astonished at the venom from the left!

Conservatives don't behave that way. We hold biblical beliefs as basic tenants. We admire genuine effort. We understand failure. We hold the values of the Founding Fathers in high regard.

And here you are asking that we fold our hanky corectly and sit with our legs crossed so as to not offend anyone! And yeah, I realize the you havn't said anything about your political beliefs - you don't have any.

Your posts seem to indicate that you see yourself as an elitist, educated, fair minded neutral that will vote for the 'best candidate' on the issues.

The days of being Politically Correct are over. The feminization of America is being challenged.
It's time to pick a side son!

As I look out the west facing windows of my house I can see a farm that is sitting on the IN/IL state line. So I am close to the insanity. But I choose not to go there unless I really need to!!! My mom's family is from the South Suburbs of Chicago and we still have many relatives and friends who have not escaped the state. In fact we had the father of a friend die and now all the father's guns are safe in my gunsafe (because my friend left Illinois and ended up in New Jersey, which is just as bad). The day after the funeral they brought all the guns to my house for safe keeping.

Its really a shame what some states put their citizens through. The guns that got 'smuggled out' of Cook County included a Ruger 22 pistol, a Winchester Super X shotgun, a Winchester Model 12 and a Belgian Browning 380. But as the wife of the dad man didn't have a FOID card then she couldn't keep the guns in the state! The kids no longer live in the state so they don't have FOID cards. The easy solution was to 'smuggle' them out of the state to a 'free' state like Indiana. There is no law that prevents the wife from owning the guns while they exist in my safe. So the guns are hers, in my safe, and the laws are not violated. Silly that if she kept them in her home she would have been violating the laws but by keeping them in my home they are legal.

At least I'm in East Central IL and about 230 mi. south of "Hitlerville", so it's no quite so bad.
But they are still trying to pass laws making my 10/22 and 20ga illegal! We do have some politicians on our side, but they have to fight the Blago and Dailey owned politicians.

(Praying that Blago is indited (sp), then Dailey!)

My Goodness! I had no idea that IL was that bad!
I've never spent much time there but I've seen their record with carry permits and ownership and it just must be awful to live there if you love guns?

    No wonder Les Baer left!

It's not so bad outside of the "Peoples Republic of Chicago" and "Crook" County. Usually don't have too many problems down here but must be careful if we transport them - to be sure they are in some kind of case, unloaded and/or broken down.

We are trying real hard to get the "Recall" provision bill passed and placed in the state Constitution. Problem is - even getting it on the floor (it passed the Senate). The big guy in the House is a good buddy of the governor and the gov. would be the first one we would go after! It could be blocked.

Yeah, if C/CC had thier way there would be NO guns in IL!

    lawfully owned guns, anyway...

So true! The criminals would ALWAYS have their guns.
And the Gov. and Mayor Dailey, et al, would have their guns.

Only the law-abiding citizens of IL wouldn't have theirs. (openly)
I told Senator Rutherford (good guy) that if it ever came to it, I would take my guns to IN to my daughter's house. I would NEVER give them up!

Well, with any luck, Gov. Blago and Mayor Daily will end up in prison soon and we could start over with another "corrupt" regime. :rolleyesedit:

Calling what the far-left is doing to this country "feminization" might be insulting to women. That's why I call it "pussification".

Yup, when I was shopping for my first handgun I couldn't even hold one in the guns store before my 21st and every time I went in to shoot the $#** with the owner I had to show him my FOID card before handling a gun in the store.
