    Oh yeah, and don't scrimp just to save a couple hundred bucks. Reliability really is important, and from my experience you can _often_ get away with a cheaper gun with good ammo, or a good gun with cheap ammo. But cheap gun and cheap ammo don't mix, and why settle for "often get away with" when it may be your life on the line.

    Basically what these guys have said...if you can, try it before you buy it. I've owned dozens of handguns, and the one that I've carried the longest is a Bulgarian Makarov. Its not exactly a powerhouse, but its reliable and easily concealed.
